Children's Village Student Arrested in Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- A 41-year-old male employee of Children's Village reported that a 17-year-old student shoved him into the doors after the employee tried to stop him from leaving the campus. Police said the incident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on Aug. 2 and the student was arrested on Aug. 6 for harassment in the second degree. The student was charged and released and is due in court on Aug. 18.

The following items were also reported by local police:

• The Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force pulled over a 20-year-old Ardsley male after he allegedly cut off the task force while driving with a taillight that was out. Police said they smelled and found marijuana in the man's car and the driver was issued an appearance ticket. Police said the male was stopped on King St. after cutting off the task force on Ashford Ave. on Aug. 4 just before 5 p.m.

• A 34-year-old Yonkers man reported that $275 was taken from his wallet on Aug. 4, which was left unattended in a gym bag for a brief period of time at the New York Sports Club.

• A 56-year-old Yonkers man reported on Aug. 3 that his wallet was stolen from the glove compartment of his 2011 Chevy Cruz while inside the New York Sports Club. The man reportedly told police that his car was locked at the time. Police said a debit card, two credit cards and $837 was inside the wallet, which was missing when the victim returned from the gym.

• A 62-year-old Mercy College employee allegedly turned his work laptop in for maintenance and the school reportedly found pornography material on his computer's hard drive on Aug. 5. A criminal complaint was filed and police said they are still determining if the pornography is illegal or not.

• An Ardsley country club reported damage to its golf course on the second hole and also to a golf cart on Aug. 6 between 5 - 6 p.m. According to police, the golf cart was taken for a joyride and was left with about $1200 in damage. Police said there were scratches to the front of the cart, which was taken from the maintenance shed area.
