ARDSLEY, N.Y. - A section of Heatherdell Road between Concord Road and Chimney Pot Lane will be closed for excavation Saturday to allow Con Edison to install gas lines.
The road closure is expected to last from 8 to 11 a.m. when asphalt will be removed to allow for a gas line installation at 64 Heatherdell Road.
Village Manager George Calvi said local motorists should bypass the work location via Highland Avenue / Beacon Hill Road to Chimney Pot Lane. Eastbound motorists can bypass the work location via Powderhorn or Chimney Pot to Beacon Hill Road.
"Sincere apologies for whatever inconvenience this may cause, but despite our objections about having such excavations on a major road during the holiday season, the PSC is ordering that this work be completed immediately," Calvi said.
