Traffic along the roadway will be reduced to one lane with flagmen guiding vehicular traffic.

"The work is being done to address a gas line leak that worsened over the weekend," Calvi said Monday evening. "Although the work at this time will be limited to the sidewalk area, it will cause traffic to be reduced to one lane with flagmen present alternating the flow of eastbound and westbound traffic."

The work is expected to take a week, Calvi said. Con Edison has assured the village that it will be contact with the Ardsley Police Department immediately if both lanes of travel need to be closed, he said.

"Naturally, this work will generate backups," Calvi said.  "Thus, either build more time into your trips near the area or avoid it if you can."
