Credit Card skimming involves the installation of a device on an ATM or credit card reader that enables criminals to obtain critical account information from victims that use the machine.

The discovery was made due to a complaint being received that the Bank of America ATM, located at Wallkill Town Center on Schutt Road Ext. was not working as usual, police said.

It is unknown how long the device had been attached to that ATM and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone who used that ATM and feels their identity may have been compromised should contact their financial institution, police said.
