TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Work has begun in Tarrytown to demolish the toll plaza near the Tappan Zee Bridge as part of the new bridge project according to News 12 Westchester.
The tolls were deactivated last month and replaced by new cashless tolls on the Rockland County side. The new system in South Nyack doesn't require drivers to stop using either E-Z Pass or a picture of the license plate to send a bill in the mail, according to News 12 Westchester.
Closures will begin starting Tuesday, May 10, with crews removing structures as part of the $3.9 billion bridge revitalization, eventually bringing the cashless tolls back to the Westchester side, according to News 12 Westchester.
