Dobbs Ferry Boards Sworn in for the New Term

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – There was a flurry of appointments to the various boards and commissions in the village at the Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees meeting on Monday night.  The meeting was a designated annual organization meeting as dozens of local residents were appointed to the various village boards.

Mayor Hartley Connett was sworn in for his second term as were trustees Catherine Kay and Victor Golio, while Vincent Rossillo was appointed to his first term on the board.

“Everybody’s been very welcoming and supportive and I know it’s going to be a challenge,” Rossillo said.  “I just want to thank everyone, especially my family for all these nights that I’m going to be out and all the reading that I have to do.”

Connett read the name of every person being appointed to the various boards and emphasized the importance of each and every committee.

The village honored “those who are willing to give much of their time back to help make Dobbs Ferry a better place,” Connett said.

Village attorney Darius Chafizadeh was reappointed as village attorney while Marcus Serrano was reappointed for another term as budget officer.

Dr. Richard Borkow was personally on hand for his reappointment as the village historian and Connett made sure to show his appreciation for the work he does.

“We really appreciate what the doctor does in keeping us aware of the history of Dobbs Ferry and keeping it alive is very much important,” Connett said.

There were also several other appointments to various other boards and committees, which can all be seen on the village website.
