DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. A 59-year-old Dobbs Ferry man told police that someone had ordered a credit card in his name and made $14,000 worth of purchases with it. The identity theft occurred between Oct. 13 and Oct. 15 and police said the person ordered the card and signed for it at the victims home. Police are investigating the matter.

Police said a Dobbs Ferry man was the victim of identity theft recently after he noticed unauthorized transactions on his account. Police said the man noticed two separate ATM withdrawals totaling $1,100 in the Bronx and Manhattan.
An employee of Childrens Village told police that on Oct. 12 his 1997 BMW was scratched along the drivers side doors with an unknown object while it was parked outside of Williams Cottage. Police said a witness reported seeing a youth near the car, but not actually scratching it. Police are investigating the matter.
An employee at the Dobbs Ferry Library reported the theft of a brass letter off the side of the building on the night of Oct. 12. The brass letter L was stolen off the side of the library and police said it is valued at $200.
