Dobbs Ferry's Seasonal Gas Leaf Blower Law Takes Effect
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - The Village of Dobbs Ferry began to enforce its summer season leaf blower law Wednesday prohibiting gas-powered blowers from being used through September 1. The leaf blower restrictions allow for the use of electric leaf blowers throughout the year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The use of gas-powered leaf blowers is allowed from March 15 through May 1 in the spring and September 15 through December 15 during the fall season. Persons violating the leaf blower law are subject to a fine of $50 for the first offense and $250 for each subsequent offense in the same calendar year. The property owner and the operator of the leaf blower are subject to the fine.
