Shortly before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, police were dispatched to Harcourt Road near Hampton Road, where a woman told officers she was running westbound on the sidewalk, and when she attempted to pass a girl walking the dog, it bit the runner’s left leg.
Police reported that the runner had small lacerations and bruising at the site of the bite on her leg. The dog’s owner responded to the scene, supplying police with all necessary veterinary information and vaccination records from Central Animal Hospital.
The dog, a 6-year-old Australian Labradoodle “did not appear dangerous, and behaved orderly in front of patrol,” police noted. Officers advised the dog’s owner to quarantine the dog for the next 10 days, which is standard protocol and a Westchester County report of Animal Bite, Scratch or Contact form was completed for the incident.
