Former Dobbs Ferry Man Arrested After Gunshot

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Police have arrested Alexander Kelley, a 24-year-old former Dobbs Ferry resident in connection with a single gunshot fired outside Celtic Corner early Thursday. Kelley, a resident of Lakewood, Wash., is a U.S. Army officer, according to a Police Department press release.

The shot was fired from a semiautomatic handgun on the sidewalk outside Celtic Corner after a dispute between bar patrons, said police in the release. The weapon has been recovered and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and Hastings Police assisted in the investigation.

Dobbs Ferry police located and arrested Kelley around 9:20 a.m. in Dobbs Ferry after talking to witnesses who disclosed his identity, said Dispatcher Eugene Marron.

Kelley will be charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class D felony, and menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, at an arraignment on Thursday, police said.
