DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Martha Corey-Ochoa, the Dobbs Ferry High School valedictorian who died after jumping from her Columbia University dorm Monday night, will be laid to rest Saturday.

Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home at 64 Ashford Ave. in Dobbs Ferry. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church at 16 N. Broadway in Irvington, according to published reports.

Corey-Ochoa was regarded as a bright and promising student who was planning to double major in English and math at Columbia. She planned to get her doctorate and teach math at a university, she told The Rivertowns Daily Voice in June.

While a student at Dobbs Ferry High School, she took challenging classes, played violin and was writing a novel, Lisa Brady, Dobbs Ferry superintendent, said in a statement.
