Sergundo Mora, 50 and Luis Jacho, 52, will be laid to rest at St. Ann's Church at 6 p.m. at 25 Eastern Ave.

Jacho and Segundo, 50 were attempting to remove an underground tank from the backyard of a multifamily home when the blast occurred at 65 Hillside Ave., a block away from Hastings High School. After it exploded, the tank caromed into nearby woods, officials said. There was no additional fire damage and the immediate area around the blast was quickly deemed safe by officials.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that gasoline vapors and not the usual heating oil remnants may have built up inside the tank before it exploded after one of the men cut into tank. Further tests are being conducted.

According to LoHud, the company,Hawthorne-based Three D Industrial Maintenance, had not filed permits to do the work but that permits do not need to be filed until 30 days after the work is completed.
