He delivered 150 coats, 100 toys and 100 books to the Yonkers Family YMCA in Westchester County. The coats, toys, and books will also be distributed by Sharing Community, Inc. and the Family Service Society of Yonkers.

“With the holidays upon us, my administration is pleased to do our part to help others in need,” Cuomo said in the release. “New Yorkers have always been the first to step up and offer a lending hand to those less unfortunate."

Cuomo launched a statewide toy, coat and school supplies holiday giving drive at the beginning of December.

The state Office of General Services set up drop-off locations around the state for businesses and individuals to bring donations to be distributed to families in under-served communities.

The Toy Industry Foundation, distributing toys and grant funding to children’s charities across North America, donated thousands of toys as part of the governor’s initiative.
