Bob Bernstein, who garnered the Greenburgh Democratic Committee's nomination this spring, will face off against long-time incumbent Paul Feiner for the Democratic Party nomination in debates on Aug. 22 and Sept. 3. Greenburgh Town Clerk candidates Sherron Fantauzzi, who has the Greenburgh Democratic Party endorsement, and incumbent Judith Beville have been invited to debate as well. The Council of Greenburgh Civic Associations (CGCA), a politically non-partisan organization established in 1955 to represent the interests of residents in unincorporated Greenburgh, has invited Bernstein and Feiner to debate on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. at Greenburgh Town Hall. The debate will air live on public access cable (channel 76 on Cablevision and channel 35 on Verizon FIOS). The Democratic committees in the villages (Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson) within Greenburgh are hosting a debate for between Feiner and Bernstein on Sept. 3 . The date is Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Hastings Library. Bernstein said Monday that he welcomes both debates against the 22-year incumbent, while Feiner has committed to the September debate in Hastings. “This debate is an opportunity to speak about the issues plaguing our Town,” Bernstein said. “Residents need to hear how I will lead the Town out from under the bevy of lawsuits filed as a result of Mr. Feiner’s conduct in office. Greenburgh taxpayers have shouldered the ‘Price of Paul’ for too long.” Feiner has accepted the invitation to the debate on Sept. 3 in Hastings. "I have agreed to participate in this (the village's) debate," Feiner said. "I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to contrast my views and record with my opponents and to discuss our visions for the future."
