Safe Choice examined statistics that included violent and property crimes in order to rank the municipalities throughout the Empire State.
Hastings was ranked 17th and boasted .88 violent crimes per 1,000 as well as 8.05 property crimes per 1,000.
Overall, Hastings is safer than 81 percent of U.S. cities, according to the survey.
Dobbs Ferry was ranked No. 24 with .64 violent crimes per 1,000 and 10.58 property crimes per 1,000.
The village was rated safer than 73 percent of U.S. cities.
Briarcliff Manor was rated the safest in New York and safer than 98 percent of U.S. cities.
Other Westchester towns included Pleasantville (No.4), Rye Brook (No. 7), Bronxville (No. 8), Harrison (No. 10), Tarrytown (No. 11), Scarsdale (No. 12), Croton (No. 13), Mamaroneck, (No. 14), Sleepy Hollow (No. 16), Rye (No. 19), Peekskill (No. 22), Eastchester (No. 25) Mount Kisco, (No. 27), Ossining, (No. 28).
