Hastings Police Arrest Juvenile After False Alarm

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Police arrested a 15-year-old male on Dec. 20 after an investigation concluded he had wrongly pulled a fire alarm at Graham School on Dec. 16 around 9 a.m. Police said the juvenile was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree, which is a misdemeanor. The Hastings Fire Department responded to the alarm and determined there was no fire and that the alarm had been pulled maliciously. The Graham student was issued an appearance in family court.

Police said a 15-year-old male student at the Graham School reported that he was being attacked by an older student with weapons. The male said a 17-year-old female student had been throwing rocks at him earlier in the day on Dec. 15, but he was not hit and did not sustain any injuries. Police said the dispute was handled by school staff from there.

A Hastings resident surrendered eight boxes of 50 cartridges, each of 9mm Luger Herter’s brand ammo, to police on Dec. 16. Police said the resident did not want the ammo and disposed of it with them.

Police said a 58-year-old male taxi driver reported a dispute with a 65-year-old male Hastings resident on Dec. 17. The taxi driver said the man told him he had a gun, but police found no gun when they responded. Police spoke with the men and then sent both on their way. No charges were filed.

A Graham School employee reported to police that a 34-year-old man was on campus on Dec. 18 confronting a youth who had gotten into a dispute with his 14-year-old daughter. Police responded and advised the father of the school policy and he agreed to leave the grounds. Police said the school handled the situation after that.
