Hastings Recreation Forming Youth Lacrosse Teams

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Hastings Recreation Department is sponsoring lacrosse teams for boys and girls in fifth and sixth grades this spring under the supervision of Hastings High School Boys Lacrosse Coach Drew Wendol.

The teams will compete against other teams in the Hudson Valley Lacrosse League in the C league (for beginners). No prior experience is necessary. The teams will practice and play league games one or two nights a week and on some weekends. 

The cost for the season is $125, which covers uniforms (reversible jersey and shorts), officials, practice supplies, entry to tournament, league fees, registration fees, insurance for field use, awards etc. Players supply their own equipment. 

Registration is open during normal business hours at the James Harmon Community Center on Main Street. Checks should be made payable to Village of Hastings-on-Hudson. Players are also required to pay as $25 for a U.S. Lacrosse Membership. Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 14.
