There are several organizations looking for help in making sure that no one forgoes a Thanksgiving meal.

New York Basket Brigade Efforts in Hartsdale

The New York Basket Bridgade is looking for donations and volunteers to assemble Thanksgiving baskets that will each feed a family of four.

"We're thrilled we are going to be able to feed 1,000 people this year, said volunteer Anna Olivo.

Thanks to Michael Stark of Fresh Direct in Jersey City New York Basket Brigade will be able to deliver five times the number of baskets they ordinarily hand out.

"They just came out of the blue," said Olivo. "That's why we were able to feel so many people, because of their generosity."

This year their Westchester volunteers will pick up food and deliver it to Our Lady of Shkodra at 361 W. Hartsdale Ave. in Hartsdale on Friday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 22 volunteers will assemble and deliver the baskets.

The baskets will be delivered to families in Westchester and New York. New York Basket Brigade partners with the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless and Bernard School in New Rochelle to identify families.
