Hollywood Chooses Dobbs Ferry Once Again

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Trailers and movie sets were once again in Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday as the new Julianne Moore movie, “The English Teacher,” was in town filming.  The film stars Moore and is directed by Craig Zisk, director of the TV series “Weeds.”

The crew was filming at 145 Palisade St. Wednesday afternoon inside the buildings at the bottom of the hill while the trailers and trucks sat outside. Dobbs Ferry has been a recent hot bed for Hollywood as Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) was also in town filming scenes for his new movie, “Predisposed,” back in June.

According to IMDB, the film stars Moore as an English teacher whose life is changed when a former student returns to her small town after failing as a playwright in New York. The movie also features Nathan Lane and Greg Kinnear among others and is scheduled to be released in 2012.
