Austin Lee Custodio, 21, of Pine Bush, was charged with selling and delivering alcohol to minors by Tolland State Police after using his fraternity's debit card to buy beer and vodka for a party attended by Jeffny Pally before her death, said the Daily Campus.
Pally, 19, was a sophomore from West Hartford, when she was struck by a fire rescue vehicle that was responding to a call, said the New York Daily News.
The nursing school student was sitting on the ground with her back against the fire station bay door at 1:13 a.m., when she fell backward when the door opened and she was run over by the station's Chevy Tahoe, the Daily News reported.
The driver thought he had run over fire equipment and did not discover her body until he returned to the station, said the Hartford Courant.
At the time of her death, Pally had a blood alcohol content of 0.25 percent, more than three times the legal limit, according to the state police transcript.
The other students charged with permitting a minor to illegally possess alcohol included Connecticut residents Patrick Augustin Callahan, 21, of Mansfield; Matthew Aaron Moll, 21, of Mansfield; Dylan P. Morose, 22, of Storrs, and Jonathan Louis Polansky, 22, of West Simsbury, said the Daily Campus.
Dominic Robert Godi, 21, of Bolton, was also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and illegal delivery of alcohol to a minor, the state police transcript reported.
Pally's parents, Abraham and Shiny Chemmarappally, filed suit Feb. 2, against the school and the driver of the Tahoe for "the negligence and carelessness," resulting in her death, said the Hartford Courant.
