HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - CT. Lasers, the company that was to produce "Light On The Rocks" at last Saturday's Hudson River celebration on the Hastings waterfront, sent a statement via The Daily Voice on Monday promising to make good on the show.

More than 1,000 people attended a planned laser light show on the Hastings waterfront that fizzled.

The laser show was to be displayed on the Palisades directly across the Hudson River from MacEachron Park in Hastings. CT. Lasers attempted to project the show - which was to include personal messages sold for $20 and $35.

The event was produced by the Hastings Phoenix Foundation in association with the Hastings Chamber of Commerce, Hastings Alumni Association, and Hastings Friday Night Live. The "Lights Festival" celebrated the Hudson River with food, music and lights.

Organizers have not yet released a make-up date for the event.

CT. Lasers owner Marc Arotsky explained the difficulties that caused the show to be cancelled and asked those who were at the planned show to return for a replay at a date to be announced.

The CT. Lasers statement read: "This is CT. Lasers, the co. that was entrusted to produce the laser light show for this event. We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the extreme technical difficulties that we ran into at MacEchron Park. Please understand, this was not just a simple, "The Lasers didn't work.

"There were, unfortunately, many factors that went into the night of difficulties. We had severe [problems with power], which was provided for us. We attempted to do everything in our power to save the show, but the lack of sufficient and regulated power was a problem that we could not overcome. We are not placing blame nor are we not taking responsibility. But this was a night of cascading problems that we have not faced in our almost 15 years of Laser light shows.

"We hope that the show can be re-planned and provide the spectacular Laser display you all expected to see. We told as many "powers that be" that we would love to come back out at no charge and do the show as planned. Let's hope that we can come back out and really WOW the people of Hastings.

"We know what the problems were, we rectified the unforeseen issues of the night and we are ready to have the people Hastings-on-Hudson sit back and enjoy the Laser show they were promised."
