Library is Looking for New Board Candidates

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Dobbs Ferry Public Library is looking to fill a spot on its board of trustees now that there is an official opening.

“These officials set policy and ensure that the library is responsive to the public’s needs,” a statement from the library said.  “They are village residents, appointed by the mayor and serve five-year terms.”

Dobbs Ferry mayor Hartley Connett is scheduled to deliver recognition of service for outgoing library board trustee Christine Tomasino on Tuesday night.

Becoming a board member is something that the library said can be a great opportunity for anyone who’s interested.

“Serving as a board member includes many challenges, but great rewards as well,” the statement said.

The library board meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 8 p.m. for all interested candidates to consider.  The library said that anyone who is interested should contact village clerk Liz Dreaper at Village Hall at 914-231-8504 or .
