DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. Police said a man from the Bronx was arrested on the night of April 29 and charged with a DWI along with an aggravated DWI after getting into a fender bender on Main Street in Dobbs Ferry.
Victorino Castillo, 53, of the Bronx was arrested on April 29 and charged with a DWI and an aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors, after police said he was intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content level at or above 0.08. Police said Castillo pulled out of a parking space just before 9 p.m. in his 2011 Ford Edge on Main Street and struck the rear of another car. Police said the driver of the other car got out to make sure Castillo did not potentially drive away. Police said they arrived on the scene and determined that Castillo was intoxicated. He was arrested and later released.
Broken Window Arrest- Luis Rivera, a 24-year-old Harriman resident, was arrested on May 3 and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, which is an E felony, reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation. Police said Rivera had a confrontation on Ogden Avenue with a 19-year-old female on April 29. Police said as the victim got into her 2000 Chevy Trailblazer to drive away, Rivera allegedly threw an object through her rear window. The rear window smashed and the damage was estimated at $981. Police said he was released on $1,000 bail after being arraigned.
Mercy College Domestic Incident- Kesner Haughton, an 18-year-old Warwick resident, was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a class A misdemeanor, after an altercation with his girlfriend at 5:30 p.m. on April 30, police said. Police reports said Haughton allegedly choked his 19-year-old girlfriend in a Mercy College dormitory stairway. Police said the victim reported the incident and Haughton was arrested and later released to a family member.
Stolen Sneakers- Police said a 14-year-old student at Childrens Village reported that two other residents had threatened him with violence if he did not give up his sneakers to them on May 3 around 3 p.m. Police said the boy gave up the shoes and reported the incident to staff members, who got the shoes back. Police said the victim will still press charges against the two juvenile suspects and the case is still under investigation.
Larceny at the library- Police said a 42-year-old Ardsley woman left her bag in the computer area of the library unattended for 20 minutes on May 3 and when she returned her Android cellphone was missing. Police said the phone is valued at $200 and the case is still under investigation.
