Mary Hoy, 82, Retired Teacher, Of Ardsley

ARDSLEY, N.Y. – Mary Grandsire Hoy of Ardsley died Sept. 25. She was 82.

She was the daughter of John and Mary Norton of Yonkers and graduated from the College of Mount St. Vincent and Lehman College, both in the Bronx, N.Y. She was as a teacher at Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe and Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx.

She married Donald Hoy on Feb. 27, 1988. Hoy was a Dame of Malta, a member of the Sierra Club and Larchmont Shore Club and a patron of the arts of the Vatican Museum. She also loved traveling.

Hoy is survived by her husband; four children, Dr. Paul (Lynne) Grandsire, Jeanne (Jerry) Kerrisk, Mary (Donald) Grandsire and Claire (John) Odenthal; two stepchildren, Douglas Hoy and Peggy Hoy McNeil; and 12 grandchildren.

Her first husband, Paul A. Grandsire, predeceased her.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, at Church of the Annunciation in Yonkers.
