DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- As the summer begins to wind down there are some pressing matters in the village that will be addressed at upcoming meetings. There are also some events planned to help you relax before the kids head back to school.
The Dobbs Ferry Board of Trustees will be meeting Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss several issues. The meeting will be held in the board room at the village hall. The agenda lists representatives on behalf of the Stop & Shop renovation plan to present a modified plan for renovation of the store.
The board will also discuss awarding the bid for the LED street light replacement project. The board will consider awarding the bid and applying a $10,000 grant for the replacement of old guardrails in the village. A joint road paving agreement with other villages will be discussed, as well. The appointment of an intermediate account clerk in the village's finance office to replace a recently retired employee will be discussed at the meeting. The mayor will also update the village on various projects and development proposals in Dobbs Ferry.
The Dobbs Ferry Zoning Board of Appeals filing deadline is set for Wednesday, Aug. 24. Applications can be filed at the village hall all day.
On Friday, Aug. 26 the Dobbs Ferry Public Library will be having an end of summer celebration for everyone who participated in library programs this summer. The celebration will be from 1:30-3 p.m. and there will be ice cream sundaes, crafts and more.
