Meetings and Important Dates In Hastings This Week

HASTINGS, N.Y. -- There are a few important dates to mark on your calendar this week as a resident of Hastings. With meetings, tryouts and events for the kids scheduled, Hastings will be quite busy this week. Take a look below at some of the important dates coming up.

• The Hastings Planning Board will be meeting Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. in the Municipal Building to discuss a few different topics. First up on the agenda is a public hearing for a resident's view preservation approval to alter the roofing on his front porch. The will also be a public hearing for an application of the Atlantic Richfield Company about the installation of security lighting and cameras at 1 River St. on the waterfront.

The board will also be reviewing and discussing a proposal for the construction of townhouses at 400 Warburton Ave.

Other discussion items include amendments to the Steep Slope Laws of the village and the creation of a panel/committee that would consider exempting certain cases from full planning board or zoning board of approval actions.

• On Thursday, the Chemka Pool will once again be having its popular Thursday Night Lights. It's scheduled to start at 8 p.m. if weather permits.

• Varsity football in Hastings gets started again on Friday with its first official practice.

• Starting Friday, the Chemka Pool will be hosting lifeguard training sessions all weekend. The cost of the training session is $350 for residents and $385 for non-residents. Check here for session times.
