RIVERTOWNS, N.Y. - Here are the top stories in the Rivertowns from the last week:

David Padilla, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Iraqi war and a business student at Mercy College, visited the White House last week and was i ntroduced to President Barack Obama.

Ardsley High School's team of scholars has advanced to the regional semifinals of MSG Varsity’s “The Challenge” quiz show and will take on New Rochelle High School next on May 22.

Tarrytown and Irvington chefs came out on top during the first week of the Golden Knives Challenge. Carl Van Dekker of The Village Dog in Tarrytown outcooked Hastings chef Alex Sze of Juniper on the first night of the challenge.
