Motorcyclist, 23, In TZB Accident Suffers 'Serious Injuries,' Police Say

State Police are investigating a motorcycle accident that occurred southbound on the Tappan Zee Bridge span Tuesday afternoon.

The motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries, police report.

The motorcyclist, driving a 2008 Yamaha was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of a 2007 Ford Econovan which was traveling in the same lane, state police said.

The 23-year-old man, from the Bronx, was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

All lanes at the scene re-opened by 2 p.m.
