New York Thruway Lane Closures Planned Overnight Thursday For Paint Crews

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Lane painting will require the closure of three lanes of the southbound Thruway (I-87/I-287) overnight on Thursday, Jan. 22 near exit 9 in Tarrytown.

Two lanes will be closed at 8 p.m., followed by a third lane at midnight. One lane will remain open throughout the operation.

The three closed lanes will reopen at 5 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23. The operation will also require the closure of exit 9 (Tarrytown - Sleepy Hollow - US Route 9) of the southbound Thruway from 10 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22 to 5 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23.

Drivers bound for destinations in the Tarrytown vicinity are advised to use Exit 8A (I-87 - Elmsford - NY Route 119) and follow signs to Route 9 (see graphic for turn-by-turn directions).
