DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - The mild autumn weather, two pulsating bands and wafting aromas of a variety of foods set the backdrop Saturday for the 11th Annual Dobbs Ferry Festa.
Dozens of vendors sold their wares, kids bounced and slid down air-filled amusement attractions and crowds packed the entire distance down Cedar and Main streets even before the event officially opened at 1 p.m.
The Dobbs Ferry Fire Department ran a dunking booth and there was live music at the corner of Cedar and Main and in front of Doubledays Tavern. The event also features booths where visitors could support local sports, environmental and Cub and Boy Scout troops.
The event is designed to bring attention to Dobbs Ferry's downtown. In addition to food, art, crafts and other retail vendors, the event gives organizations the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses to the community.
