ARDSLEY, N.Y. Ardsley police worked alongside the countywide alcohol awareness program to nail two liquor store employees for selling alcohol to minors.
Police said the two sides collaborated and sent an underage agent into Captain's Wine and Liquor on Feb. 10 and a 23-year-old male employee sold the agent a bottle of wine. Police arrested the employee and charged him with the sale of alcoholic beverages to someone under 21 years of age. Police issued him an appearance ticket for the violation.
Police ran the same operation at the Thai House on Ashford Ave on Feb. 10 and a 57-year-old female employee sold a can of Coors Light beer to an underage agent around 9 p.m. Police arrested the woman and charged her with the sale of alcoholic beverages to someone under 21 years of age. Police issued her an appearance ticket for the violation.
Stolen TV: A 19 inch Dynex television was stolen from the bathroom of a Shell gas station on Feb. 8 according to police. Police said the television, which is valued at $249, was stolen between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. and the suspect was seen leaving the area in a white Chevy van.
Property Damage: Police said an unknown truck drove over the grass median in front of a Saw Mill River Road shop causing damage and leaving a tread mark on the grass on Feb. 8. The cost of the damage was still undetermined according to police.
