Police Say Art Valued at $10K Stolen from Home

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Police said a 96-year-old Hastings man had a piece of artwork taken from his home on Oct. 27.  Police said the artwork, which was apparently taken off of the wall, was valued at approximately $10,000 and it is unknown who took it.  Police said they found no signs of forced entry and are still investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, Todd Capers, a 19-year-old Springfield Gardens resident, was arrested on Oct. 25 and charged with driving with a suspended license after Graham School employees reported Capers and another person were on the campus without permission.  When told to leave the campus by school staff, Capers got in a 2008 red Porsche, but remained in the area on Dudley Lane. Police said when they went to investigate they discovered that Capers was operating his vehicle with a suspended license. Capers was not charged with trespassing because police said they did not observe him on the campus.
