Rivertowns Villages Cope With Icy Conditions

RIVERTOWNS, N.Y. – Schools in Hastings, Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley closed early Monday while public works departments, police and other emergency personnel dealt with snow, rain and icy conditions.

Morning snow turned to rain, then sleet, creating icy road conditions later in the day and forcing the cancellation of after-school programs and school sports events in all three villages.

Dobbs Ferry, Hastings and Ardsley police reported no auto accidents or road closures during the early morning commute or through the daylight hours prior to the evening commute.
