Westchester County will continue to front the funds for the 87-year-old amusement park’s operations and short-term investments, which for some members of Friends of Playland, is preferred according to the report.
Lohud reports that the county increased the marketing budget for the park for 2015 for the first time in 26 years, after a 24 percent increase in revenue from 2014, making some believe that the park doesn’t need a private company to become successful.
