An estimated 1,478 residents in Dobbs Ferry, 1,536 residents in Hastings and a 1,351 residents in Ardsley lost power due to Hurricane Sandy Monday night, according to Con Edison reports. Authorities said the height of the storm was expected to hit the area later in the evening, but that intermittent power outages could be expected all day Monday and Tuesday.

"At this point, any outages are going to be storm related," said Allan Drury, Con Edison spokesperson. "We're seeing outages being reported throughout New York City and throughout Westchester."

Con Edison officials reported that they were uncertain when power would be restored during the storm.

"We're restoring people now and we'll continue to do so as long as conditions are safe for us to be out there," Drury said. "With all of the outages, we will do our best to work as quickly as possible to restore power as long as those repairs can be made safely."
