The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Monday to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 21-year-old Brandon Medina, who has moved to an apartment on Oak Street in Yonkers.
The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Medina as a Level 3 threat, which means he is a “high-risk repeat offender and possible threat to public safety.” He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.
According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Medina sexually abused a 5-year-old boy, having sexual contact and intercourse with him in 2013. He was arrested by members of the Yonkers City Police Department SOR Unit and convicted the following year. He reportedly overpowered his victim, whom he was supposed to be babysitting. Medina was sentenced to 14 months in local jail. He remains under the jurisdiction of law enforcement officials in Yonkers.
