Springhurst Students Set to Perform 'Nutcracker'

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Springhurst Elementary School first graders will be performing a production of the ballet “The Nutcracker” on Wednesday afternoon.  The students will be participating in a day-long program in which professional dancers and instructors will hold morning workshops with 115 Springhurst students and their teachers.

“According to Ballet Ambassadors Founder and Artistic director Sondra Forsyth, the mission of the group is to give children and teens in schools the chance to share the stage with professional dancers in adaptations of the ballet classics, original ballets, and world dance productions,” the school district said in a press release.

After lunch, students will show what they’ve learned and perform a show based on what they were taught throughout the day.  Students will perform the one hour show at 1:15 p.m. in the Springhurst band room.
