DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- St. Christopher’s, Inc. recently hosted a pep rally to celebrate and support its development director and Ossining resident, Kurt Kannemeyer, as he prepares to climb the 19,500-foot Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on April 1.

The climb is also part of an effort to raise money for a residential treatment center for developmentally-disabled students at St. Christopher’s Valhalla campus.

During the pep rally, Zumba instructors Dianelis Holguin and Christine Naber led a Zumba Party with students and faculty to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle to mirror Kannemeyer’s training for the climb.

Artist Suzan Waldinger also led an art project where children used their hands to create a canvas painting. Disc jockey J Ronnie Diaz of Perfect Touch DJs provided the music.
