As the steamy weather continues to increase in Westchester County it seems to have taken its toll on Mother Nature as Wednesday night called for scattered severe storms and even spawned a tornado watch in New York until 8 p.m. As the heat continued to sit in the 80's throughout the day, it started off like another superb beach day. However, after heavy clouds rolled in and the wind picked up many events in the area were cancelled , including t-ball and tennis lessons in Hastings-on-Hudson. To track the weather throughout the day click here .The Dobbs Ferry Police Department said that it does not mobilize warnings or issue statements in regards to weather watches in most cases. Instead, the department advised people to simply remain aware and to use common sense when going out. A tornado has been spotted as close as Springfield, Mass. and the watch continues in New York.
