Two Graham School Students Face Assault Charges

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Two 15-year-old girls were arrested Sept. 9 after a previous altercation with a 16-year-old girl at the Graham School.

Police said that after an altercation at the school Aug. 31, the victim suffered a broken nose and facial injuries. Two girls were charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Both are due to appear in Yonkers Family Court Sept. 20.

In other police news:

  • Police received phone calls that gunshots were heard at approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 10 near Warburton Ave.

After patrolling the area, police said the noise came from fireworks near the train station, where officers found several youths at the scene. However, police said there was no evidence that the fireworks were actually set off. Still, officers took down the names of those who were present at the scene.

  • Police said a tree fell behind the Hook and Ladder Fire Company in Hastings on Sept. 10, damaging two cars. A 2004 Dodge Durango and a 1997 Honda Accord were damaged by the tree, which had several wires entwined in its branches. The tree also damaged a retaining wall at 60 Main St.
