Village Historian Set to Discuss Book at Signing

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Village historian Richard Borkow has been making the rounds to discuss his book and the historical relevance of the local area and will continue this Wednesday. Borkow will be giving a lecture and having a book signing at St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site in Mount Vernon on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Borkow said he will be discussing some of the main themes from his book, “George Washington’s Westchester Gamble,” and highlighting various historical points.

Borkow said important local events during the war will be discussed “including George Washington's dramatic 'moment of choice' at the Lower Westchester encampment, Philipsburg Encampment, in August, 1781, when he made the decision that would win the Revolutionary War.”

Admission is free and open to the public and St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site is located on 897 South Columbus Ave.
