ARDSLEY, N.Y - Ardsley Mayor Peter Porcino released a statement Saturday morning updating the village's status on restoration of power to residents and businesses.

Work crews restored power on Almena Avenue, Ridge Road North, Shady Road, King Street, Center Street, and Saw Mill River Road between Ashford Avenue and Center Street.

"We are also very happy to say power has been restored to the traffic light at the intersection of Ashford and Route 9A," the statement said. "Restoration crews are presently working on Judson Avenue and Euclid Avenue. Other work crews are inspecting every wire and connection to ensure there is no problem when the lines are re-energized. We are hopeful that we will get most of the village back up in the next few days."

There may be delays in parts of the village affected by downed wires, where crews will need to work on the wires before power can be restored, but the crews are working on the problem, he said.

The rumors the village was not on the Con Edison repair list are not correct, he said. Con Ed said all power should be restored by Nov. 9.

"As we said, most of the village should be getting its power back in the next few days," the statement said. The Ardsley Library will be operating on extended hours as a warming center until 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The Middle School cafeteria will be open as a warming center from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m both days. Efforts are being made to get power to Concord Road Elementary School and the Ardsley High School so they can re-open Monday.

RSA Computer on 9A is offering free Wi-Fi and charging. The library and Riviera Bakery also are offering re-charging as are other merchants in the village. As the temperature drops the next few days, the village urges residents at-risk to find alternative shelter.

The Town of Greenburgh is operating a shelter at the Town of Greenburgh (Theodore Young Community Center, 32 Manhattan Ave.).
