HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – With the weekend coming up there are plenty of events taking place in the villages to help you relax on your day off. Art shows, book readings and magic shows are just some of the events scheduled for this weekend. Take a look below at what's happening in the villages this weekend.
Local magician Vinny DePonto will unveil his brand new show, "Myseterious Delights," at the Historical Mead House in Dobbs Ferry all weekend with shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting at 8 p.m. This show is for audiences 18 years older and only.
On Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Dobbs Ferry Farmer's Market is back on Cedar St. and will have its usual collection of fresh produce, meats, baked goods and wine.
Photographer Bob Zahn will have his "Our Town" portraits gallery on display at the Hastings Municipal Building through Oct. 29. There will be a reception for Zahn and his gallery on Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the Hastings Farmer's Market will be in the Municipal Building parking lot with some of the freshest produce in Westchester.
Ashford Park in Ardsley will be having its Skate Jam with 2nd Nature Skate at the park on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The winners of the "Take Me Away This Summer" photo contest will be announced in a reception at the Dobbs Ferry Public Library on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
The Art Academy of Westchester will be screening footage of Martha Graham and a feature documentary hosted by Maxine Sherman at 145 Palisade St in Dobbs Ferry on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The event is $10 for River Arts members and $15 for non-members and reservations are required. The Purple Crayon will be having a dance party hosted by DJ Rekha on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
Sunday is Ardsley Day and there will be live music, food, activities, crafts and rides for kids throughout the village all afternoon. There will also be an apple pie baking contest for the first time.
The Hastings Public Library will be screening the Martin Scorsese film "The Age of Innocence" at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
