YONKERS, N.Y. -- The 37-year-old Yonkers woman killed by a driver during a hit-and-run on Warburton Avenue in Yonkers early Sunday evening has been ID'd.

Glynis Pinto, 37, of Yonkers was killed in the incident, according to Yonkers Police.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Babcock Place.

The victim was unconscious and suffering from several serious wounds to her lower extremities and torso when police arrived. The victim was treated at scene by paramedics and subsequently removed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Members of the Detective Division began an immediate investigation and accident investigators from the Traffic Division processed the accident scene for evidence, police said.

Initial reports indicate that a dark colored sedan was involved in the incident and subsequently fled the scene southbound on Warburton Avenue, according to police.

The victim is not being identified at this time pending notification to family members.
