Similar work was completed in Tarrytown last month, where girders were installed near the Metro-North Hudson Line, the story said.

Plans are to connect girders to the Rockland shore, eventually linking to the bridge abutment on River Road, reported LoHud.com.

The first span of the bridge is scheduled to open late in 2016.
