HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Angelo "Sonny" DeGasperi, a longtime Hastings-on-Hudson resident, died July 1. He was 79.
DeGasperi was a retired member of Local 501 and Local 3 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He was born Aug. 30, 1932 in, Yonkers to Dominic and Aminda (Picani) DeGasperi. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1955. He was also an active member of Armando Rauso AMVETS Post 40 and Hastings Southside Club.
DeGasperi is survived by his wife of 54 years, Naomi (DeStefano) DeGasperi; a son, Richard (Jayne) DeGasperi; a daughter, Denise (George) Kettenacker; two sisters, Anne Venzi and Helen Pizzi; a brother, Dominic DeGasperi; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hastings Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew's Church in Hastings-on-Hudson. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a favorite charity.
