Anthony Yozzo, 91, Dobbs Ferry WWII Veteran

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Anthony "Tony" Yozzo, a longtime Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley resident, died Feb. 7. He was 91.

Born in Calabra, Italy, Yozzo immigrated to the U.S. in 1927. He returned to Italy in 1932 before coming to the U.S. in 1938. He served in the Army during World War II.

After the war, Yozzo worked as a tailor for shops in Hastings-on-Hudson and Rye. He retired in 1985. He was a member of American Legion Post 1048 in Dobbs Ferry and the Sons of Italy.

Yozzo is survived by a sister, Jennie Caparrotti and three nieces. He was predeceased by a nephew, Joseph Caparrotti.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at  Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. A Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Dobbs Ferry.
