Frank Torre, 78, Formerly Of Dobbs Ferry

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Frank A. Torre, a former Dobbs Ferry resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 18. He was 78.

Born Jan. 16, 1934, in Yonkers, he was the son of Frank J. and Angela Torre. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1958 and was an active member of the National Guard. Along with his brothers, Torre owned and operated Torre Builders Supply Co. in Yonkers.

Torre was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Most recently of Pawling, N.Y., he was an avid musician who enjoyed playing the drums and listening to jazz.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lola Torre; six children, Donna Torre, Frank Torre Jr., Lisa (James) Miller, Jon R. (Ann Marie) Torre, Regina (Richard) Meilman and Christopher Torre; three siblings, Robert C. Torre, Albert J. Torre and Marie Della Sorte; and 10 grandchildren. A brother, Donald R. Torre, predeceased him.

Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Sinatra Memorial Home in Yonkers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church in Yonkers. Entombment will follow at the Rosewood Mausoleum at Ferncliff Cemetery.
