DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Genevieve Marone, a longtime resident of Dobbs Ferry, died Tuesday, Jan. 19. She was 92.
Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Clara Bonadies. She married Joseph Marone at Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Dobbs Ferry. She was a great cook and especially adored spending time with her grandchildren. She was also an avid golfer.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Christine), Richard and Lisa (Doug) Marone-Schmidt; grandchildren Marissa Moussa, Erin Marone, Denine Timlin and Jennifer Napolitano; great-grandchildren Layla, Chloe, Christopher and Timothy; and her sisters, Madeline and Jeanne.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1984 and by her sisters, Mary, Marie A., Frances and Josephine.
Visiting hours will take place from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry. A Mass of the Resurrection will take place Friday, Jan. 22, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Dobbs Ferry.
