HASTINGS, N.Y. - Marie Arruda (nee Wargo) of Hastings died Wednesday, Nov. 6. She was 95.
Arruda was born March 13, 1918, to John and Helen (Risko) Wargo in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. She worked as the office manager for Silver Lining Laundry in Yonkers for over 37 years retiring in 1980.
Arruda is survived by her sister, Mildred Hufnagel; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Augustine Arruda.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 at St. Matthew's Church in Hastings. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
